So, With Honor is playing four shows in the northeast in January, with Todd. Although I've never been certain this day would come, I'm so very happy it is. As cheesy as it sounds, this band is responsible for some of the most important aspects of my life, and to have a chance to have a proper goodbye with them is something that I greatly look forward to.

So yeah, a year has passed since the last time I used this darn contraption, but I figured that I should make an update just in case anyone out there's still watching.

First and foremost, I recently started a new job. I now work at a call center for Hartford Insurance. It's not an amazing job, but it's far better than the one I had before it, so I really can't complain.

Secondly, as it seems the habit is between my entries, I got a couple more tattoos.

And those are pretty much the only big changes since the last time. Still straight edge. Still vegan. Got a year older, but that happens all the time. Now that I've updated everyone on my condition, I'll be leaving now. Maybe I'll stop in and check this thing more often. Maybe.

What a Week

So yeah, starting from last Thursday:

Got off work at 1am. I drove to Allentown around 2:30am. After getting a bit of sleep, I drove to Philadelphia to pick Becca up. Traffic was a pain, but I should've expected it. Once we got back to Allentown, we went to the movies with my father, my sister, and my niece to see March of the Penguins. Despite some ridiculously sad parts, I enjoyed myself. After that, we went back to the apartment to get some sleep.

Friday:

We went and got some groceries at Wegmans some time shortly before noon. Kevin showed up around 3:30pm, and after a little bit, we went in search of a mall that was about twenty minutes away, but to no avail. After that, we drove back to Allentown to catch Rise Against/From Autumn to Ashes/Comeback Kid/The Loved Ones. We got in as The Loved Ones was playing, and they are pretty damn good/funny. Comeback Kid was as good as usual, and it was nice to see them play Partners in Crime and Our Distance. The barrier at the club was not fun, though. Also, the stupid fashioncore kid that called CBK emo and said he wanted to hear some hardcore like FATA needed shot. And on that note, FATA sucked a lot, though I must say, their new record has one good song. One. Anyways, Rise Against was excellent as well. After we left the venue, we got a message from Kaley that her and Lauren had got in to Philly. We drove to Philly, picked them up, and got back to Allentown around 3am. We watched some TV and got some sleep.

Saturday:

After getting some food to eat, Kevin went back to NJ and me, Becca, Kaley, and Lauren headed to Philly. The first show we caught was 108/Champion/Betrayed/Good Clean Fun/Outbreak. We missed part of Outbreak's set, but it was still good. Good Clean Fun was fun (duh). Betrayed and Champion were great too. After seeing 108, I realized just how dumb I was for not listening to them sooner. So damn good. After that, we picked up a friend of ours, got some Chinese food, and caught Lifetime/108/Smoke or Fire. Smoke or Fire put on a pretty good show. 108: same as earlier. Lifetime was fucking spectacular. Played everything from Jersey's Best Dancers and most of Hello Bastards. After that, we went back to Allentown and got some mad sleepage.

Sunday:

We spent most of this day sitting around and watching Law and Order. We went to the mall that we couldn't locate on Friday and I bought A Dirty Shame. We watched it back at the apartment. So good.

Monday:

We left for NYC around 2amish. We got to CBGBs around 4am. We staked our spot outside the venue and were joined shortly by some other people. It was a long, sun-filled wait outside the venue, filled with frequent trips to my car for food/water/etc., but it was worth it. We got inside at about 7pm. First up was Take My Chances. Very good, Backup Planish stuff. Then Voice in the Wire went on. Reminded me of Bear vs. Shark meets Hot Water Music. Grey Area put on an amazing show. They covered 7 Seconds - Young Til I Die, and I must say, it was one of the best/most appropriate covers ever. Lastly, Kid Dynamite came on and fucking tore the place down. Most of the self-titled and a good deal of Shorter, Faster, Louder, including Ernie from Grey Area coming out and helping with the cover of Token Entry - Birthday. After the show, we drove to Becca's place to get some sleep.

Tuesday:

After we spent some time at a tattoo shop run by Becca's friend, I left for Atlantic City to catch Rise Against/From Autumn to Ashes/Comeback Kid/The Loved Ones again. The main differences worth noting were Ryan from Outbreak doing guest vocals with Comeback Kid for Talk Is Cheap and Rise Against playing Tip the Scales, something I didn't expect I'd ever see. I began the long ride home around midnight and got home around 5am.

All in all, it was a fucking blast. No Hellfest didn't stop me from having a lot of fun and spending some time with some really good people. I leave you all with a picture in closing:
